Siden 2013 har Rentx vært sertifisert innen bransjestandarden for vaskerier som håndterer vask fra helsesektoren. For å håndtere slik vask ligger det mye teknologi bak. Se Hvordan Rentx arbeider for å redusere smitte.

Bruker robotteknologi for å redusere smitten

De senere årene har Rentx satset tungt på innføring av robotteknologi og automatisering ved industrivaskeriet på Moane. Teknologi som bidrar til at langt færre hender tar i potensielt infiserte tekstiler. 

-Alt av smittevask som kommer til oss leveres i spesiallagede gule poser. Inne i disse er det en ny vannoppløselig pose som oppløses i kontakt med vann. Sammen med spesielle kjemikalier går dette to runder i en egen vask, før det går videre på den vanlige produksjonslinjen hos hos oss, forklarer Andersen. 

Bransjesstandarden for vaskerier tilknyttet Vaskeritilsynet har en rekke føringer og anbefalinger. En av anbefalingene er at det er et tydelig skille mellom rent og urent inne i vaskeriet. Hos Rentx er alle innkomne tekstiler hermetisk skilt fra tekstilene som er ferdig vasket.

-Hos oss fungerer det ved at vi har bygget vegg rundt selve maskinen. Skittent fores inn på uren side, før det kommer ut som rent tøy i et helt separat rom. Vogner og traller blir automatisk desinfisert i tillegg til at det er en egen sluse der ansatte må gjennom. Her er det spriting og vasking av hender, sier Martin.

Slik arbeider Rentx for å redusere smitte

• Hermetisk skille mellom ren og uren side i vaskeriet: Kontaminerte tekstiler blir tatt inn på den urene siden og kommer rene ut på den andre, noe som eliminerer risikoen for krysskontaminering.
• Automatisert vask: Smittetøy ankommer vaskeriet i gule, selvoppløselige poser. Disse posene oppløses i egne maskiner, som både desinfiserer og vasker tekstilene med en spesiell såpeformel utviklet for å drepe bakterier.
• Minimalt med manuell håndtering: Ved hjelp av roboter og automatiserte systemer sørger Rentx for at tøyet kun blir håndtert av én person på den urene siden. Ansatte må også desinfisere seg når de beveger seg mellom den rene og urene siden.
• Desinfisering av utstyr: Alle traller og vogner desinfiseres kjemisk før de brukes til rent tøy.
• Jevnlige kontroller: Med jevne mellomrom foretas det fremdyrking av bakterieprøver i tillegg til sjekk av andre rutiner.

Kompetente ansatte og strenge rutiner

For å hindre smitte og krysskontaminering er det de ansatte som sitter på nøkkelen til suksess. Hos Rentx får alle ansatte komplett kursing i hvordan man best mulig skal håndtere infiserte tekstiler.

-Det er de ansatte vi bør takke for at vi har klart å holde smitten borte fra vaskeriet. Under Covid hadde vi ingen smittetilfeller der vaskeriet var kilden. Det viser at vi har et system som fungerer svært godt, også når det er under press, avslutter Martin.
